It seems hard to believe, but the unofficial end to the summer has come and past.  I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  Of course, that means that the children are back in school and the shopping season will start to pick up.  Before you know it, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the Christmas seasons will be upon us. 

I thought that this month’s newsletter should be dedicated to developing a strategy as how to best help increase your custom jewelry business and to work more efficiently with Innovative CAD Technologies.  The goal of this plan is to minimize the time spent going back and forth as we try to understand exactly what your client is looking for. Think of your CAD/CAM Designer service bureau as an extension of your own custom jewelry design center.  As a service only company, Innovative CAD Technologies prides itself on providing you the tools that you need to close a deal.  Even though we might be working hundreds of miles apart, the speed and utility of the internet puts us right into your design center.  When it comes to closing a sale, there is nothing quite like making a presentation to your clients with a series of 3-D, photo-realistic renderings that will show exactly what the finished product will look like.  The client will no longer have to picture in their minds what a hand sketch is going to eventually look like.

This tool, when used efficiently, almost guarantees that the clients will be satisfied with the design.  I suggest presenting each custom design client with a folder as a memento of their unique design and of the process that you used to guided them through.  Having satisfied clients showing friends and family these beautiful renderings with your name printed on the photos is priceless and certainly may lead to new business.

The value of what we can add to your custom jewelry business (or exclusive pieces for stock) is amazing.  But, there are pitfalls when working together that we must fill in order for the process to work more effectively and efficiently.  Therefore, Innovative CAD Technologies is announcing that it will be creating a data sheet that you can keep handy when working with clients on new custom items.  The sheet will be available on our website within a few days.  On the sheet will be all the information that needs to be filled in that is critical to the overall creation and understanding of the job. Simple things such as finger size, length, width, thickness, etc.  Metal preference, shank styles, and stone dimensions are all important to begin to create that future heirloom.  We also will have many other areas that will be optional and are there to offer choices to the client.    I firmly believe that by utilizing this new form, you will appear more professional to your client and will help expedite the job so that it can be completed quicker.
